![]() ![]() The raw damage is modified by how powerful a hit is supposed to be, which is why a Greatsword with 300 raw damage will hit for way more than a Sword and Shield with 300 raw damage. In essence, it's all about motion values. Just understanding this much has taken hours of research and it doesn’t even add up on the end! But different attacks with the long sword do different amounts of damage with each hit, so how are these calculated from the “Attack” stat of a weapon? I want to understand so I can know when 40 fire is worth 10 less raw on a given monster and such, but I don’t know how the damage is calculated at all! Is there yet another percent applied to the stat for each individual attack in a combo to calculate its damage? And if it works this way, why do I keep hearing elemental is better on faster weapons? Isn’t it just an additional percent applied like everything else? I’m so confused. So discounting weapon sharpness and the like, a long sword with 260 raw and 22 ice should do 172 ((260 * 0.65 = 169) + (22 * 0.15 = 3.3)) damage with each hit. In monster hunter rise, damage each weapon type and element type does to a monster is listed on the monster’s stats page as percentages, right? (This is my first MonHun game I’m getting this info from interpreting internet research so it could be wrong) For example, Rathalos’s head takes 65% slicing damage and 15% ice damage. So, I need some help understanding damage calculation. Moderators reserve the right to manually approve/disprove posts based on how it affects the quality or state of the sub.
